With the global pandemic continuing into 2021, the business community has been amongst the hardest hit.
Strathcona County continues to align its COVID-19 response with the Government of Alberta, and the Economic Development and Tourism department is here to support our entrepreneurs and business owners through many of the services we offer.
Reach out for one-on-one support or business retention services and find a team of ready professionals with access to updated, relevant market research, business gap and sector analysis, information on current future land strategies, and more.
In addition to these services, a new series of online seminars will provide the local business community with timely topics to help address the struggles businesses are facing, including the unique issues operating during a pandemic brings. Space is limited; be sure to register in advance and learn about all upcoming seminars at strathcona.ca/seminars.
Join us on Tuesday, Feb. 23 at 11 a.m. for the first monthly webinar on how to adjust your business to meet the new ‘normal’. While businesses and organizations have had to respond to changing COVID-19 restrictions, there is a way to help your business find more even footing. Catalyst Communications will be providing professional insights on taking proactive steps through marketing strategies for immediate, long-term, and post-COVID-19.
In this session, Stacey Lozinski and Benjamin Proulx will lead attendees through the importance of strategic marketing plans for businesses operating through COVID-19 and the plan for afterward. The combined experience of communications and marketing in both non-profit and private sector organizations will better equip businesses with the tools to plan for now and into the future.
The March webinar topic is negotiating commercial leases and renewals for dummies — dealing with your lease during COVID-19. Topics that will be covered include strategies for first-time tenants, how to negotiate rent reductions, deferrals and abatements, and what approaches landlords are taking with tenants.
Economic Development and Tourism continues to support the business community, looking to strengthen the economic climate throughout COVID-19 and beyond. We are an enthusiastic, informed group of business experts working to provide relevant information and support across various sectors.
